Below is a list of competitions organised by the Seniors Section throughout the year, notification of events and dates is posted on the Seniors Section notice board in the main locker room on the ground floor. If you would like to play in any of the following competitions please check the notice board or contact the Seniors Section commitee member responsible for the competition

AGM 9-HOLE - 3 CLUB AND A PUTTER CHALLENGE
An annual competition held on the day of the Seniors AGM prior to the meeting, competitors are allowed to choose any three clubs and a putter in a fun Stableford competition played off the Seniors green tees.

SENIORS 9 HOLE STABLEFORD (Mondays)
A Club Handicap qualifying competition, open to fully paid up members aged 55 or over or others of any age who are suffering from disabilities who have a certificate of disability, as well as those recovering from illness or injury. Played off green tees 95% of course handicap.

CLUB SENIORS ANNUAL STABLEFORD
The winners of each of the above Seniors 9 hole Stableford competitions will compete in the Club Seniors Annual Stableford at the end of the season. The winner of the event will be presented with the Club Seniors Annual Stableford trophy at the Club presentation evening

SENIORS SECTION GREENSOMES TROPHY (blind draw)
A non-qualifying knockout competition open to all Seniors Section members. This is an 18-hole competition, played from the yellow tees, entry is on an individual basis but pairs will be drawn randomly after the close of sign up. The handicap allowance for greensomes is 60% of the lower handicap combined with 40% of the higher handicap. The sign up for this competition opens at 12:00 am on 22/04/2024

TWEARLY TROPHY
An annual event competing for the Twearly Trophy, held at the Oaks Golf Club, Aughton, York, a singles Stableford competition over 18 holes played from Yellow Tees. Players are split into two divisions - Seniors with a player Index up to 20 (Division 1) and from 21 and upwards (Division 2). The playing handicap will be 95% of the course handicap.

ALAN de LACY SENIORS TROPHY
An individual knock out competition open to all paid up members of the Senior Section with a competition handicap. Played off yellow tees (full handicap)

JIM WOOD VETERAN TROPHY
Individual 9 hole knock out competition played from the green tees off full handicap.
Entry limited to paid up Senior section members aged 70 and over as at Jan 1st, in the competition year.

SENIORS INTER CLUB TEAM MATCHES ( home and away)

Friendly and social inter club matches, usually 12-man teams, fourball format played off yellow tees.

OAKDALE SENIORS TROPHY
An annual club board competition, open to all male members over the age of 55. The competition is played from the yellow tees off full handicap.

The golfer with the most points awarded from all the qualifying competitions will be presented with the Seniors Section Golfer of the Year Trophy at the Club presentation evening.
